Q: Where are you from?
A: I am from the San Francisco Bay Area. I spent the first half of my childhood in Berkeley CA, and then moved two towns east to Lafayette CA.
Q: What did you do prior to attending Tuck?
A: Before Tuck, I spent 6 years working for Amazon in a variety of different intrapreneurial organizations. I started my career working as a retail category manager on a team working to bring the convenience of eCommerce shopping to enterprise customers. Eventually, our efforts cultivated in the launch of AmazonBusiness, a retail platform dedicated to business customers. Afterwards, I transitioned to help launch the Prime Now program, which brought 1-hour delivery of products to urban customers. While on the Prime Now team, I worked as a product manager technical, building tools and models to help the business scale domestically and internationally.
Q: Why did you choose Tuck?
A: I quickly found that every MBA program has a fantastic assortment of classes to help you gain the soft or hard skills that you are looking for when returning back to school. However, what set Tuck apart to me was the people. After visiting and meeting with students, I quickly got a sense of the strength of the Tuck community, and knew that I wanted to be a part of it.
Q: Do you have plans post-Tuck yet? If so, what are they?
A: I will begin recruiting early in 2020, but I plan to return to SF and work for an early-stage tech company.
Q: What made you want to be part of the CDS MBA Fellows Program?
A: The Fellows program is a great opportunity to continue to explore issues in technology that are rapidly evolving. The program is carefully crafted for diversity of background, so it’s a great opportunity to engage with classmates who view issues and emerging technologies from drastically different lenses.
Q: What is the best part of being involved with the CDS?
A: Thus far, the best part of the CDS Fellows program has been the trip to China. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity to engage with alumni and businesses across a wide range of industries in China. The trip really opened my eyes to the uniqueness of the Chinese market, and gave me a totally different perspective with which to think about applying new technologies and business models.
