Tuck School’s Center for Digital Strategies takes part in several Executive Education programs offered throughout the year, and in a number of locations. The “Digital Excellence Program“, offered in partnership with Google, was first offered in June 2015 and is geared towards the Minority Entrepreneur.  The goal of this program is to provide participants with the tools needed to bring their digital marketing and communication skills to the next level. Sessions vary in topic from Google Analytics, to AdWords, to business leadership skills.

We asked one of program alums, DeNita Lacking-Quinn, of Achieve PR, to share with us a bit about his experience in the program. DeNita attended the program in December 2015.

How does the use of digital technology or strategy help enhance your business?

We are able to reach international mass media markets through the use of digital technology and social media platforms. It has opened many opportunities for our clients and corporate partners. As a boutique public relations firm, it is important to use all forms of technology to extend our brand globally.
What was a key takeaway for you at the Digital Excellence Program that has helped your business?
Our biggest takeaway was defining our online brand dynamics and creating consistent content that would tell our story and attract new clients. Thinking globally, not locally.
Are there any specific digital or tech policies that have helped create a positive internal culture for your team?
We support our staff on our social media platforms and offer free internal extended learning classes to assist them with new management tools and certifications. The more we know, we grow together as a team. All staff are required to submit their social media links because their online content is an extension of our brand, but we also celebrate them publically and socially.

What has been one big surprise around the impact or influence of digital on your company?

Our biggest surprise is how much Achieve PR’s has influenced and impacted the great City of Dallas through our post and digital interactions. Just within a few months of completing the Digital Excellence Course we received local and national recognition.  We were also surprised to know that our brand was noticed in Beijing, China and the Gold Coast of Australia by developing a new persistent digital media strategy.
