Bio: Daniel B. Rowe T’09
Dan Rowe is a music industry entrepreneur, advisor, and musician. He is currently the Chairman & Founder of One Riot Music, a music publisher and record label, and the COO & Founding Executive of Firebird Music. As a musician, Dan writes, performs and produces both as a solo artist and with other artists.
Dan was also the Founder of Sword Rowe, a boutique merchant bank, where he focused exclusively on the music industry. He has been a strategic and financial advisor to numerous music companies including SOCAN, Audible Magic, Songspace and MixCloud.
In 2013, Dan was a founding partner of Atlas Music Publishing, acquired in 2019 by Scooter Braun’s Ithaca Holdings, where he served on the Board and advised on finance and investment strategy. In 2018, he founded One Riot Music with partner Amy Patton. One Riot is currently partnered with Reservoir Media Management and Virgin / Universal.
Prior to Sword Rowe, Dan worked as an audio engineer, in music management, and in the finance department at TVT Records and TVT Music Publishing. In a parallel career, Dan has been an active musician and record producer, often collaborating with his wife, singer/songwriter Charlotte Kendrick.
Dan received his MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, and also studied French and international business at HEC in Paris, France. He holds two Bachelors degrees from Ithaca College: a B.M. in Music Composition and a B.A. in Math-Economics. He currently resides in Hopewell, NJ with his wife Charlotte and their three children.
