Roundtable on Digital Strategies
Membership in the Roundtable on Digital Strategies delivers an ongoing series of business dialogues at which CIOs (chief information officers) and top-level executives of corporations from Europe and the Americas share insights into the enabling role of digital/information technology in meeting current business challenges. In focused discussions that cut across organizations and industries, participants from noncompeting member corporations examine meaningful business issues and topical challenges that they have in common. They come away from the day-long experience with new ideas and new approaches to specific challenges—the kind of creative assessment that arises only from diverse perspectives. Because members choose the topics each year, the discussions are always relevant to their real-world concerns.
Member organizations are from different industries and can thus share their perspectives on specific business issues openly and wrestle with concerns common across sectors. The roundtable also invites an academic or two who brings examples from industries other than those represented and can share some relevant research. Participants are expected to bring their best practices, share their key issues and strive to generate new insights to business problems together.
The roundtable meets four times a year to discuss a specific business issue. The Americas and European chapters meet jointly once a year, alternating between a European and an American host. The Americas chapter meets separately two additional times per year while the European chapter gathers once a year. Each meeting is a full day event and includes a dinner together the evening before. Member companies take turns hosting the meetings.
Each roundtable results in a written summary distributed to participants in a timely manner and, subject to a confidentiality review, made available publicly. The roundtable is stewarded by the Center for Digital Strategies at Tuck and governed by a small Executive Committee.
