Patrick Wheeler

Executive Director
Patrick Wheeler serves as Executive Director of the Center for Digital Strategies at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, where he has established himself as a pioneering force in artificial intelligence education and technology leadership development. As an early advocate for AI education in business schools, Wheeler launched Dartmouth’s first generative AI programming in 2022 and co-created Tuck’s inaugural AI-focused course in 2023. He founded and leads the Dartmouth AI Conference, which has grown from 175 to 400 attendees in just two years, bringing together industry leaders, alumni, and students for crucial discussions on AI’s impact across sectors.
Under Wheeler’s leadership, the Center for Digital Strategies has become a hub for technology education and innovation at Dartmouth. He developed and leads comprehensive AI workshops for students, faculty, and staff, having educated over 500 participants in AI-specific programming since 2018. These workshops combine theoretical understanding of AI fundamentals with practical strategy development and hands-on exploration of AI tools and applications. His portfolio includes founding the MBA Associates Program, a first-of-its-kind discussion-based technology and digital strategy initiative, and creating the Tech 101 Learning Series to enhance technological literacy across the Tuck community.
Wheeler’s impact extends beyond campus through his advisory work on AI strategy with both private sector organizations and federal government entities. His ability to forge meaningful partnerships has resulted in collaborative research with Google, producing influential papers that have been used to guide Google’s clients and partners and the development of immersive learning experiences, including technology ecosystem exploration programs in China.
Prior to joining Tuck, Wheeler built a diverse career spanning consulting, technology, and innovation. As a consultant, he led technology strategy and digital transformation initiatives across four continents, combining management consulting expertise with data-driven methodologies to enable growth and operational efficiency for global organizations. At CEB (now Gartner), he demonstrated his product development acumen by creating a low-code e-learning suite that generated multi-million dollar revenue within its first year.
Throughout his career, Wheeler has consistently excelled in building and scaling programs, developing talent, and creating long-term value through strategic relationship building. He regularly serves as a moderator for executive fireside chats and panels, while also partnering with institutional leadership on AI strategy initiatives. His approach combines deep technological understanding with a focus on practical implementation and long-term value creation.
Wheeler holds a B.A. in Political Science from St. Michael’s College. His areas of expertise include artificial intelligence strategy, digital transformation, technology education, and strategic program development.
