With over 25,000 stores across the globe, Starbucks delivers a unique, yet consistent standard of excellence 85 million times each week. The operational excellence of creating such a consistent and enjoyable experience doesn’t just happen. It takes a lot of insight, analysis and communication to create the Starbucks Experience. Leslie Hampel oversees Store Operations and Workforce Management for the iconic brand and makes heavy use of data to deliver on their promise to customers.

Join the Center for Digital Strategies as we welcome Leslie Hampel T’07 back to campus to discuss how Starbucks uses data to drive its store operations and manage its workforce.

About Leslie Hampel:

Leslie Hampel is Vice President of Store Operations at Starbucks, where she focuses on workforce management to ensure each and every store interaction supports the Starbucks Experience. Previously, she was Vice President of Global Strategy at Starbucks, where she led the strategic planning process and worked to redefine how the company manages employees around the world.

Prior to Starbucks, Leslie spent two years at strategy consulting firm Booz & Company (now PwC’s Strategy&) followed by five years at Coach, where she started out as an internal strategist. Coach, a company known for its premium leather goods and accessories, including handbags, was entering new international markets and Hampel aided that effort by building consumer insights and market positioning for the brand. After two years, she transitioned to the international finance team, analyzing operations and establishing sales and inventory targets for stores.
