Gaming, the Metaverse, and the Rise of Trans Media w/Marcus Morgan T’19, Obsidian Entertainment
The Center for Digital Strategies welcomed Marcus Morgan T’19, Head of Strategy and Operations at Obsidian Entertainment, back to Tuck for a lively and engaging conversation!
The conversation was wide-ranging, covering the gaming industry, the metaverse/Web3/crypto, the rise of trans media (blurring of lines between gaming, TV/movies, and other pieces of the media and entertainment sector), and other topics relevant to his time leading strategy and operations at Obsidian.
Marcus discussed career pathways in tech and gaming, balancing short- and long-term priorities as a business leader, the future of work and managing remote employees.
Marcus also participated in the annual FYP kickoff event at Tuck, and will held afternoon office hours open to students following the FYP kickoff.
About Marcus Morgan T’19:
Marcus Morgan T’19 is currently the Head of Strategy &Operations at Obsidian Entertainment, a Microsoft Xbox Game Studio and one of the world’s leading producers of role-playing games. Previously, he was Senior Manager of Global Product Marketing at Xbox, where he worked directly with Obsidian to market and launch their games.
Previously, Marcus worked in a variety of roles in the gaming industry, both with Activision Blizzard and Electronic Arts (now EA).
Marcus is a graduate of College of the Holy Cross and received his MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
