Tuck School’s Center for Digital Strategies takes part in several Executive Education programs offered throughout the year, and in a number of locations.  The “Digital Excellence Program“, offered in partnership with Google, was first offered in June 2015 and is geared towards the Minority Entrepreneur.  The goal of this program is to provide participants with the tools needed to bring their digital marketing and communication skills to the next level.  Sessions vary in topic from Google Analytics, to AdWords, to business leadership skills.

We asked one of the first participants in the program, Maurice Brewster of Mosaic Global Transportation to share with us a bit about his experience in the program.  Maurice attended the program and also sent his daughter, Micayla Brewster, to the December 2015 offering of the program.

How does the use of digital technology or strategy help enhance your business?
Being digitally technical is mandatory, as Mosaic Global Transportation is headquartered in Silicon Valley.  Our clients expect to have the latest & greatest pieces of technology that allows for faster, sharper and higher quality solutions.  Yesteryear, it was ok to respond back to a client within 48 hours.  Today, it’s expected to respond within 1-3 hours.  Since attending the Digital Excellence Program offered by Tuck & Google, we have completely revamped our online presence.  We added a Social Media presence; we’re Blogging, Tweeting and Instagramming whenever and where ever possible.  We hire a college Intern to handle this for us and the results have been amazing.

What was a key takeaway for you at the Digital Excellence Program that has helped your business?
One of the key takeaways was capturing data about our audience: where are our clients and who are they? Having a direct communication link to their wants, needs and feedback has been very helpful.

Are there any specific digital or tech policies that have helped create a positive internal culture for your team?
We have been told by our employees, that being socially relevant creates a sense of pride.  Being able to show what their company is doing publicly, allows the employee to share with their network and the world.

What has been one big surprise around the impact or influence of digital on your company?
The biggest surprise was the actual change in status from a ranking POV, by us doing a non PPV (Price Per View) approach to the promotion of our website.  That has led to us receiving a 37% increase in leads provided by our website.  We also learned that our clients wanted to see changes in our website.  We made the adjustments and relaunched our site in May 2016.
